MEET DR. ALEX GEORGE
Dr Alex George is a mental health campaigner and educator, helping us live happier and healthier lives through his bestselling books, Stompcast podcast and social media channels. A former A&E doctor, Alex brings a unique perspective from the frontline of healthcare to his mission of improving the nation’s mental fitness.
Alex is a leading advocate for early mental health support. He spent four years as the Youth Mental Health Ambassador to the UK government and has worked closely with YoungMinds to improve and provide funding for Mental Health Support Teams in schools. He has also helped to pioneer Early Support Hubs, which he is calling to be rolled out nationwide.
Alex has brought important issues to the forefront through his television documentaries including Dr Alex: Our Young Mental Health Crisis for BBC One, and Alcohol-Free Booze: Is It Worth It? as well as through his platforms on Instagram and Youtube to reach as many people as possible.
His passion for mental fitness has led to four Sunday Times bestselling books, including Live Well Every Day, The Mind Manual, and A Better Day, which won Children’s Non-Fiction Book of the Year at the British Book Awards.
